Summer in Sweden – part I. – Bohuslän – Marka Zackova

The second time in Sweden in the summer and the second time it surprised me with its warmth. But this time it was really worth it.

This year we decided to travel to Sweden for our wedding anniversary. A few days before leaving, however, I panicked, we had absolutely nothing planned. In the photos, the forests themselves or Stockholm. We considered packing up the tent and heading north, but the prices of the campsites convinced us that the apartments were worth more. At the same time, we were surprised by how big Sweden is and since we didn’t want to spend the whole time in the car, we decided to explore its southern part. Between Gothenburg and Oslo, we discovered a holiday destination that we really didn’t expect. The sunny coast of Bohuslän.

In picturesque fishing towns we discovered beautiful beaches with clear water, romantic corners and excellent seafood restaurants. Although the water was not as hot as in Italy, I was always happy when I decided to enter it. Even though Emil chattered his teeth, he didn’t want to come out of it. 🙂 The most beautiful were the boat trips around the Koster islands – Kosterhavet National Park, colorful houses in the town of Smögen or the town of Fjällbacka , which was also liked by Ingrid Bergman.

Since we discovered Bohuslän at the last minute and the accommodation was either hopelessly sold out or Swedishly expensive, we lived in the town of Ed, from where we made trips. There was also a moose farm in the town, where I decided to pet this more than a ton animal for the first time. Although they are big, they are very friendly – they will even take a selfie with you for an apple. 🙂

Even before we went to the sea, we spent 4 days in Stockholm and its surroundings. He also surprised us. But about that next time!
