Lake of Instagramers

I wanted to see Lago di Braies already about 5 years ago, when it was not yet so crowded with tourists and Instagrammed. I imagined how we were walking around this magical lake at sunrise, there were no feet anywhere, just a peaceful atmosphere. Ha-ha, but in recent years, this idea of mine has disappeared, as this place has become the target of photographers, Instagrammers and all “ers” :D. I’ve even had enough of this lake looking at the photos.

Last year we are at the end of our trip, which started with a pilgrimage from Padua, through Assisi, Cascia to San Giovanni Rotondo (see the first blog) and continued with a trip via Polignano a Mare, Alberobello to Sassi di Matera – European Capital of Culture 2019 by the way (see second blogpost), unplanned they made a stop at this place. The sun is nowhere, even a storm started. She drove out all the tourists and we were left there alone. It stopped raining and we had a nice romantic walk even without the sun’s rays :).

The next day we tried to come here again, but again there was a worldwide gathering of Instagrammers with checkered shirts and hats, taking pictures from their backs to the lake, so we gave up after a few minutes… we only took a classic Instaphoto of Emč.
